If you do not use synchronized Creative Cloud files and/or no longer have a Creative Cloud membership via SURFspot, you can ignore this message.
Adobe has stopped supporting synchronized Creative Cloud files as of February 3, 2025. On March 4, 2025, all synchronized files will be permanently deleted from Creative Cloud storage. Do you use synchronized Creative Cloud files? If so, it’s important to take action before March 4, 2025, to avoid data loss.
Who will be affected by this change?
This change only affects users who purchased a Creative Cloud membership through SURFspot before February 1, 2024, and who use the synchronized Creative Cloud files feature.
Did you purchase a Creative Cloud membership through SURFspot for the first time after February 1, 2024? In that case, you never had access to the synchronized Creative Cloud files feature.
What is Creative Cloud Synced storage?
Synchronized Creative Cloud files consist of:
- A local folder on your device.
- A background process that synced these files with the cloud.
- The ability to share files and folders.
This functionality is separate from other Adobe cloud storage options, such as Adobe Cloud Documents, Creative Cloud Libraries, Lightroom cloud storage, and Frame.io cloud storage. None of these services are affected by this change.
More information can be found on the Adobe Support Page.
Why is Adobe ending Creative Cloud Synced files?
Adobe wants to focus on better collaboration and storage solutions within their ecosystem. This is mainly a transition to new tools and not a significant change.
What should you do?
To avoid data loss, we recommend taking the following actions before March 4, 2025:
- Log in via https://assets.adobe.com/files If you have synchronized files, you can automatically download them as a zip file.
- Download the zip file and save it in another location, such as your local drive, an external hard drive, or an alternative cloud storage service like Cloud Documents, Creative Cloud Libraries, or Frame.io.
- No synchronized files? You will see the message: "Bestandsynchronisatie wordt beëindigd."
- Follow the steps on this page if you encounter any issues.
- You can also watch this video for more information and instructions on ending synchronized files.
What happens if you do nothing? If you don’t take any action, your files will be permanently deleted after March 4, 2025, and they cannot be recovered. SURFspot is not responsible for any potential file loss.
