You can anonymise the personal data in your SURFspot account. Some information cannot be deleted immediately when SURFspot must retain it under a legal obligation. Read the consequences below first.

What happens after anonymisation?

  • personal account details are deleted or made unidentifiable;
  • information that must be retained, such as certain invoice data, remains available for the applicable retention period of 7 years;
  • email conversations are deleted under the current retention policy of 5 years;
  • you can no longer retrieve order details through the account;
  • if you sign in again later, a new profile may be created using the details then shared by your institution.

Anonymise the account yourself

  1. Sign in to My SURFspot.
  2. Open Privacy settings.
  3. Select Anonymise your personal data.
  4. Read the warning and confirm only if you understand the consequences.

You can no longer sign in

Send a request to privacy@surfspot.nl. Include your name and the email address used for SURFspot. SURFspot may request identity verification.
