You can anonymise the personal data in your SURFspot account. Some information cannot be deleted immediately when SURFspot must retain it under a legal obligation. Read the consequences below first.
What happens after anonymisation?
- personal account details are deleted or made unidentifiable;
- information that must be retained, such as certain invoice data, remains available for the applicable retention period of 7 years;
- email conversations are deleted under the current retention policy of 5 years;
- you can no longer retrieve order details through the account;
- if you sign in again later, a new profile may be created using the details then shared by your institution.
Anonymise the account yourself
- Sign in to My SURFspot.
- Open Privacy settings.
- Select Anonymise your personal data.
- Read the warning and confirm only if you understand the consequences.
You can no longer sign in
Send a request to privacy@surfspot.nl. Include your name and the email address used for SURFspot. SURFspot may request identity verification.
